Palladium is the 46th element in the periodic table. It is a shiny, silvery-white metal that does not get rusty.

Most palladium is used in catalytic converters for cars. It is also used in jewellery and some dental fillings and crowns.

In the Iron Man films, Tony Stark uses palladium to power the arc reactor in his chest that keeps him alive. He soon discovers that it is poisoning him and he needs to create a new element to use instead.
