Look at pages 1 and 2 of George and the Dragon.

Have you noticed that some of the words are repeated? Why do you think this is?

 

These describing words are repeated to make the mountains seem even higher, the valley seem even deeper and the cave seem even darker.

Can you think of some other words to describe the mountains, the valley and the cave? Try repeating them and see how they sound.
