The Detective Dog

We have been looking at the text The Detective Dog by Julia Donaldson as an introduction to our work on detectives.

Click on the link below to listen to the story.

We have also been learning about sequencing using language like first, then, when, next, after that and finally to help us put things in the correct order.

Use the following worksheets to help practice working out what happens next.

Now can you draw pictures to help you remember what happens at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the story.  Then write some sentences to explain what is happening in each picture.

Time to talk

Imagine Nell the Dog Detective had got lost on one of her adventures. How would you find her.  Would you put up posters, ring the police, ask family and friends to help look for her? Have a chat with someone in your house to talk about what you could do.

Your next challenge is to create a lost poster for Nell giving as much detail as you can about her.

Your final challenge this week is to solve the mystery of the missing medals by using your excellent spelling and punctuation skills to help you
