Summer Term

Last half term we have worked with Lizzie, visiting artist; we created nature inspired art. In English, read The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. In science, learned all about sound, we even made our own instruments. Our humanities topic this term focused on key events including: the Queen's birthday, VE day, St George's day and Florence Nightingale's birthday.

On Mondays, we share news from home - so please feel free to upload photos to your child's Dojo portfolio or send them via the message service.

Autumn Term 2020

Welcome to class MW.

As a team, we have been very proud of how well all the children have settled into life at Riverside School and how hard they have been working during their lessons.

Harvest

In class MW we have been learning about Harvest. Linking to our class story of Farmer Duck we made a lovely vegetable soup in our science lesson.

We have also been singing The Vegetable song to share during the virtual Harvest festival on Thursday:

We used the left over vegetables to create Autumn art work.

Farmer Duck

This term we have been reading the story of Farmer Duck. We enjoyed lots of farm themed activities and learnt about the lives of animals on a farm.

Poetry Day

We enjoyed a fantastic poetry day themed around mice. We sang Hickory Dickory Dock and created our own mouse pictures. Then as a class we wrote a poem, which we performed to the school via a Teams virtual assembly. Here is a copy of the poem and some pictures of our mice:

We all worked together to make a farm picture
