Remembrance

Remembrance will be celebrated on the 11th November.

What do you know about Remembrance?

Why do some people wear a poppy?

Which charity supports the poppy appeal and what does the money raised get spent on?

Watch the following videos and answer the questions above...

R is for Remembrance | History - A-Z of WW1

Schoolchildren describe the national act of remembrance that takes place on 11th November each year.

A Short History of the Poppy

The Poppy is a symbol of remembrance worn every November to commemorate members of the armed forces who gave their lives in war. Its origins go back to the First world war

Now have a go at creating a piece of remembrance work...

You might want to do a little more research, look at the Royal British Legion webpage, or search for their channel on youtube.

You could create a piece of artwork, or a poem, or maybe a factfile on the Royal British Legion or how it began.

I've added some printable pages below if you wanted to create or design your own poppy.
